Marcus Rashford's major change after Barcelona issue and Man Utd return stance

Marcus Rashford has made a major adjustment after being disciplined by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick . Last September, the England star was punished for turning up two minutes late to a team meeting, resulting in him being relegated to the bench for their La Liga fixture against Getafe .

Although reports suggested his security card had failed, he was omitted from the starting line-up. Flick had ordered players to attend a 9:30am meeting on matchday morning, followed by an 'activation session' at 11am.

Yet sources close to Rashford verified he didn't arrive until 9:32am, leading Flick to implement his rigid punctuality policy. The German boss is renowned for his zero-tolerance stance on lateness, with players routinely dropped for turning up even a minute or two after the designated time.

On that occasion, Flick selected a front three of Robert Lewandowski , Ferran Torres and Raphinha instead, with the team securing a 3-0 victory at Camp Nou.

Rashford swiftly ensured the same error wouldn't be repeated and now turns up 30 minutes early according to the Daily Mail .

Rashford has adapted well in Catalonia following a troublesome period under former United manager Ruben Amorim .

The forward was axed by the Portuguese manager, which prompted a brief loan spell at Aston Villa before he sealed a season-long switch to the Spanish giants.

With his loan now approaching its conclusion, Barca have the option to make the move permanent for £26million but his long-term future remains far from certain.

Reports suggest the La Liga giants are not planning to make a decision until the end of the season. As for a potential return to Old Trafford, the Daily Mail adds that even with a regime change at United, a summer reconciliation is far from guaranteed.

His reported £325,000-a-week wages 'do not fit comfortably' within the current Old Trafford structure, which leans heavily towards incentive-based contracts with lower basic salaries.

It's also noted that if a permanent move to the Camp Nou does not materialise, a loan elsewhere remains an option and with the World Cup approaching, that could offer him a valuable opportunity to impress potential suitors.
