Former Manchester United coach Eric Ramsay has been dismissed by West Bromwich Albion after a mere nine matches at the helm. The 34-year-old was appointed by the Championship outfit last month following the sacking of ex-Tottenham and England midfielder Ryan Mason.
Ramsay - who served under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford - failed to register a single victory at the Hawthorns. His exit was confirmed on Tuesday evening at 11:15pm, just hours after their 1-1 home stalemate against Charlton Athletic.
The brief statement read: "West Bromwich Albion have parted company with men's first team Head Coach Eric Ramsay. Assistant Head Coach Dennis Lawrence has also departed The Hawthorns.
"The club would like to place on record its thanks to Eric and Dennis and wishes them well for the future. First Team Coach James Morrison will oversee first-team affairs on an interim basis."
West Brom find themselves 21st in the table, just a single point above the relegation zone with 12 fixtures remaining. Ramsay's brief and fruitless tenure at the club followed a two-year stint with Minnesota United in Major League Soccer.
Prior to his switch to the United States, Ramsay spent nearly three years at United working as a first-team coach. Having originally joined the club in 2021 as a player development coach under Solskjaer, his significance within the coaching structure increased.
Ramsay also helped United's overseas recruits settle in, including Casemiro, thanks to being fluent in both Spanish and French. In addition to his club responsibilities, Ramsay became an assistant coach with the Wales national football team in 2023.

Commenting on Ramsay's appointment, then-Wales boss Rob Page said: "Eric is arguably one of the best young coaches in football at this moment in time." He remained with the national side for just six months before departing to concentrate on United.
Following West Brom's draw against Charlton, Ramsay acknowledged that he bore some responsibility for the club's 10-match winless run - with two of those losses occurring prior to his arrival.
