Premier League star Kieran Trippier has finally sold his six-bedroom mansion after nearly two years on the market.

He has just announced that he is leaving Newcastle Utd at the end of the season, and is reported to have agreed a knockdown price on the property to make the sale. The former England ace put the property up for sale for £3.8m back in July 2024 after his marriage to wife Charlotte, 37, hit the rocks.

But, with no buyer in sight, he dropped the price to £3m last year before finally accepting an offer for £2,675,000 - more than £1million under his original asking price.

The couple, who have three children, bought their ‘dream home’ on a secluded modern estate in Northumberland for £3.1m in2022 just weeks after Trippier, 35, returned to the UK after three years playing for Atletico Madrid in Spain. At the time they were buying a property which sold to its first owners for £3.25m when it was built in 2009.

They are understood to have spent a six-figure sum on refurbishing the impressive property. Set on an exclusive private road in a prestigious development, the 12,500 sq ft mansion has its own cinema, games room and ‘spectacular leisure suite’ featuring a swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and changing facilities

When Trippier owned the property, the games room boasted framed shirts worn by some of the world ’s top players including Lionel Messi and Mo Salah . Trippier is believed to have a collection of 200 jerseys from his glittering career.

When it was up for sale, estate agents described the mansion, set in extensive grounds, as ‘truly a dream home that combines luxury living with an idyllic location’. They added: "This extraordinary home has been meticulously designed and renovated to the highest standard, where no expense has been spared."

The property boasted "opulent interiors, state-of-the-art technology , and beautifully landscaped grounds". The ground floor features two formal reception rooms at the front of the house along with a ‘stunning’ open-plan kitchen, dining and family area with ‘a south-facing aspect’ which is said to be ideal for entertaining.

Two solid walnut staircases feature bespoke Italian chandeliers, lead to the first floor which has five double bedrooms, each with private en-suites and walk-in wardrobes. The master bedroom also has a massive dressing room.

The former couple got engaged in Cyprus in the summer of 2015 before tying the knot in June the following year. They attended the Mirror Pride of Britain awards in 2022 after Trippier had played for Newcastle Utd in the capital.

Born in Bury, it is believed that he met Charlotte when he was playing for Burnley. The couple moved down to London when Trippier signed for Tottenham Hotspur in 2015, when they got engaged. They married in Cyprus the following year.

Charlotte gave birth to their first son Jacob in December 2016. Daughter Esme Rose was born in February 2020 and the newest addition to their family was in 2022 when they welcomed their third baby.

Prior to their breakup, Charlotte and the children regularly attended Newcastle United games to watch Trippier. In a Prime Video documentary about Newcastle United she said: "When we first moved to Madrid, I was on my own for long. I felt so lonely, 'cos people don't see that side of things.

"About four months in, I was saying to him 'I don't know if I can stay here Kieran, I feel depressed. I've got no family over here, I've got no friends here'."

Speculation surrounding the couple’s marriage emerged when Charlotte did not join other WAGs in Germany to follow England’s campaign in the Euro 2024 tournament. She provided an insight into their troubles when she took to Instagram just 48 hours before England's final group game against Slovenia and posted a cryptic message.

Charlotte wrote: "Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you'd never get over and it's the best feeling in the world." Tripper retired from international football following the tournament. The couple headed off on separate holidays. Trippier flew to Turkey with his close pal and England teammate Kyle Walker , who was enduring his own marriage difficulties.
