Emmanuel Petit believes two key Chelsea players will try to follow Enzo Fernandez out the exit door at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Fernandez has repeatedly hinted he wants to leave Chelsea since the Blues were knocked out of the Champions League by holders PSG .
Speaking immediately after the embarrassing 8-2 aggregate defeat , Fernandez refused to commit his long-term future to Chelsea, saying he ‘did not know’ if he would still be at the club next season .
Fernandez subsequently said he would ‘see’ after the World Cup when asked to clarify his comments and responding to speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid .
The La Liga giants have expressed interest in signing Fernandez and will have taken note of his recent admission that he would ‘like’ to live in Madrid .
Fernandez has been a mainstay in the Chelsea team since his £107m move from Benfica in 2023 , making over 150 appearances for the Blues and helping them win both the Club World Cup and Conference League last season .
Ex-Chelsea midfielder Petit believes Fernandez is one of three key first-team players who are ‘tired’ of the Stamford Bridge project and considering moves ahead of the summer transfer window.

‘A big, huge gap… this is the big difference between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain,’ Petit told BetGoat . ‘We saw a Champions League team on the pitch in both games.
‘The differences are huge between the two clubs. The sporting vision as well, you can see the difference. I think it was a humiliation.
‘We were expecting some kind of reaction on the pitch, and after 10-15 minutes, the game was already over. Everything was wrong on the pitch, the players’ behaviour, the tactics, the substitutions.

‘It’s a night to forget, to be honest with you. But you have to think about it with a lot of concentration and attention because I think you must use these kinds of games to change what is wrong in the club.
‘To be honest with you, since the American owners arrived, only a few things have been right. Even the players feel lost.
‘When you look at the faces, you know, straight after the game, the spine of the team, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer.
‘When you look at their faces, they feel lost, thinking, “Am I right to stay at this club? Am I going to leave the club at the end of the season? I’m tired of what’s happening at the club.”

‘Those guys want to win a trophy. We saw that last season. But this team should be among the best teams in the Premier League, but also in Europe, with the money they have spent and the players they have you should compete for the best prizes.
‘After five years spending between £1.5 and 2 billion pounds on the transfer market, you have top players, but you don’t know how to play. You have no vision.’
Palmer has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea in recent months, with reports suggesting he is not totally happy in west London .
Manchester United are believed to be interested in signing the 23-year-old , who local rivals Manchester City sold for £40m in 2023.
Caicedo, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the best midfielders not only in the Premier League but the world since his £115m move from Brighton three years ago .
Chelsea lost two Premier League games either side of humbling defeats to PSG to slip to sixth in the table, six points outside the top-four places.
Liam Rosenior’s side face League One strugglers Port Vale in the FA Cup on Saturday before returning to Premier League action next weekend against Manchester City.
