Arsenal vs West Ham Premier League prediction, odds and betting offer

Nuno Espirito Santo began his tenure at West Ham on a positive note Monday night, but now faces a much tougher challenge with a London derby against title-contenders Arsenal. The former Wolves, Spurs, and Nottingham Forest manager had just 48 hours to prepare for the trip to Everton after succeeding Graham Potter, yet managed to guide the Hammers to a 1-1 draw—an encouraging start for the new boss.

Arsenal have started the new season strongly, winning seven of their first nine matches in all competitions. The Gunners have suffered just one defeat so far, and that came against defending champions and title favorites Liverpool. Mikel Arteta’s side are unbeaten in their last six games and have already recorded six clean-sheet victories this season.

In contrast, West Ham have lost five of their first seven matches in league and cup competitions. Even with new management, the Hammers could only manage a draw against Everton on Monday night. Defensively, West Ham have struggled, conceding at least three goals in four matches already, and they have failed to score in two of their six league fixtures.

However, West Ham will need to raise their game even further to come away with a result at the Emirates, as Arsenal continue their pursuit of Liverpool at the top of the table. The Gunners closed the gap to just two points with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Newcastle last Sunday, successfully navigating a difficult run of fixtures. With a more favourable schedule ahead, Mikel Arteta will be aiming to build momentum and put together a winning streak in the Premier League.

Historically, Arsenal have had the upper hand in this fixture, winning eight of their last 12 Premier League meetings with West Ham. Additionally, six of the last eight encounters between the sides in all competitions have featured over 2.5 goals. High-scoring games have been a trend this season as well, with at least three goals scored in six of West Ham’s opening seven matches and in three of Arsenal’s first six league games.
