West Ham vs Man United Premier League preview, team news and prediction

The London Stadium will stage an intriguing Premier League clash on Tuesday night as West Ham United host Manchester United, with both sides enjoying recent revivals. The Hammers are aiming for a fifth win in six matches after a 2-0 victory over Burnley, while Manchester United, under Michael Carrick, kept their strong run going with a 2-0 win against 10-man Tottenham Hotspur.
Carrick, a former Hammer himself, has had nothing but a positive impact on the visitors, guiding United to four straight wins—including triumphs over Arsenal, Manchester City, and Fulham—and keeping them firmly in the hunt for a Champions League spot. The Red Devils have scored at least twice in every match under Carrick and are now just three points behind third-placed Aston Villa. Their attack has been prolific, with goals in each of their last 14 games in all competitions, and only one defeat in their last nine away fixtures.
West Ham, meanwhile, have also turned their season around, collecting nine points from their last four league games. Recent goals from Crysencio Summerville and Taty Castellanos secured a crucial win at Burnley, lifting the Hammers to within three points of safety. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have now won four of their last five matches, a significant improvement after a difficult start to the campaign. However, home form remains a concern, with just one win in their last 16 home league games against established Premier League teams. Despite this, West Ham have beaten Manchester United on each of the Red Devils’ last three visits to the London Stadium.
Manchester United’s injury list remains unchanged following Saturday’s win, with Patrick Dorgu (thigh), Mason Mount, and Matthijs de Ligt (back) still sidelined. The quick turnaround could prompt Michael Carrick to rotate, with Benjamin Sesko and Noussair Mazraoui possible options, but the absence of European fixtures means the same starting XI is likely. Bruno Fernandes, now involved in 200 goals for United, is one assist away from breaking the club’s record for most away assists in a Premier League season, currently tied with Ryan Giggs at eight.
For West Ham, Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to have the same squad available, still missing suspended Jean-Clair Todibo and injured goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski (back). Todibo’s suspension allowed Axel Disasi to debut against Burnley, and he should feature again at home. Captain Jarrod Bowen will look to add to his three goals in his last five league games against United, while Crysencio Summerville aims to score for a sixth consecutive match in all competitions.
