Premier League star admits footballers DM him over team news for Fantasy Football

Fulham star Harry Wilson has revealed that Wales teammates message him over team news for their Fantasy Football squads. The forward has enjoyed an impressive season for Marco Silva's team as they seek European qualification.

The Cottagers currently sit seventh in the Premier League table - three points off seventh-placed Brentford, which will guarantee a spot in next season's Europa Conference League. Wilson has been a key player for Silva's team, with 10 league goals and six assists, aiding Fulham's charge for Europe.

The 29-year-old's performances for his club have drawn the attention of those playing popular online game Fantasy Football. The game see players picking their team of Premier League stars for the next game week, with points accrued by the individual performances of those they have chosen.

And the Welsh international has opened up to BBC Sport over how his impressive form across the season has led to messages on social media from those asking to see if he will be picked for a certain match.

He said: "My Instagram DMs have been full. I had a little injury a couple of weeks ago and the amount of messages from people saying, 'are you playing on the weekend'.

"Even teammates I play with for Wales are messaging me because they all do it with their mates and no one wants to do the full forfeit at the end of the season.

"That's one thing I have noticed compared to other seasons is the number of people who have got me in their FPL teams."

When asked which teammates from Wales message him, he added: "Wes Burns from Ipswich. He dropped me a message just asking.

"You've got to be careful because obviously you can't let the team slip, but I think you've got to choose who you trust to give that information to."

Wilson faces an uncertain future at Fulham with his current contract in west London set to expire this summer.
