Viewers say Netflix's new number one film about a top athlete 'pulls no punches'.

Fans have admitted to getting goosebumps after watching the streamer's latest documentary release, which has shot straight to number one in the charts. Only released yesterday (May 12), Untold UK Jamie Vardy is already the most watched title among users at the time of writing.

It has managed to surpass action thriller Apex, which held onto the top spot for the last three weeks. It it also outperforming other new titles, including animation movie Swapped and the feelgood adaptation Remarkably Bright Creatures starring Sally Field and Lewis Pullman.

The new title is part of the Untold documentary series on Netflix, which has covered a diverse range of topics from sports stars to true crime since its debut in 2021. That includes Caitlyn Jenner, Jake Paul, the Liver King and the Chess cheating scandal to name a few.

Now the series has turned its attention to one of the UK's most extraordinary sports stories. Future releases will examine footballer turned Hollywood star Vinnie Jones as well as Liverpool's miraculous victory in the 2005 Champions League final

First up though is the chronicling of the rise of nearly unbelievable story in English football. According to its synopsis, record breaker , game changer and mischief‑maker Jamie Vardy's rise from non-league unknown to Premier League legend is a story that doesn't just go against the odds – it sticks its boots straight through them (and the corner flag too).

From factory shifts and part-time football to firing 5,000–1 outsiders Leicester City to the Premier League title, Vardy's journey feels less like a career and more like a footballing miracle.

With unseen archive, raw dressing-room tales and interviews with Jamie Vardy, his wife Rebekah, teammates, managers and oldest mates, Untold UK: Jamie Vardy shows how a lad from Sheffield smashed records, tore up the rulebook and made a mockery of what's supposed to be possible in the modern game. This is football's ultimate underdog story – told exactly as Vardy lived it.

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan.

Those who have already watched the film have recommended it to others, like one person who shared online: "Untold UK: Jamie Vardy is a must-watch on Netflix.
