Arsenal may have beaten Chelsea on Sunday, but their performance did nothing to convince Manchester City legend Yaya Toure that they would win the Premier League title.

The Gunners went five points clear at the top of the table with a 2-1 win over the Blues at the Emirates , although they have played one more game than their closest rivals.

William Saliba and Jurrien TImber scored the goals for the home team, either side of a Piero Hincapie own goal which put Chelsea level just before half-time.

Toure was in the stands in north London and not impressed with what he saw from either side, as all three goals came from corner kicks.

‘I feel a bit disappointed, we want to see fluid games, passing, attacking, scoring chances,’ the Ivorian told Sky Sports . ‘At the end of the day we saw three goals by set-pieces. For a derby, a bit strange.’

Asked if style really matters to Arsenal when they picked up a big three points, he said: ‘Yeah I think so, to be honest. Winning today was obviously really, really important, but as a fan, I want to see more.’

Toure has been more impressed with his former club, of late, and is backing them to reel in Arsenal and beat them to the Premier League title.

‘Man City are coming back well,’ he said. ‘ Arsenal were doing well from the start of the season but they dropped a few points. Brentford and Wolves as well.

‘Those results might give them a bit of doubt if I’m being honest because I didn’t see the players expressing themselves.

‘For me, Man City are playing the better games. Style, in terms of experience, in terms of approaching the games. They played against Leeds , it’s not easy, very difficult, but I watched the game carefully. Leeds have that momentum but Man City have that calmness, with control, with understanding. They’re really good.

‘That [the title race] is going to go until the end and for me Man City are playing better games.

‘Man City, for me, they’re really going to be Man City, they’re going to finish strongly at the end. Let’s see. I hope Man City win.’

Pushed on if he thinks City will actually win the title, he said: ‘Yes!’

The two teams are due to meet twice in the coming weeks, firstly in the Carabao Cup final on March 22, before a key Premier League clash the following month.

Toure reckons City can land a huge psychological blow at Wembley, saying: ‘Yeah I think it can be a turning point. I’m hoping Man City win that game and that can be significant for the rest of the season.’
