Everton's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was clearly happy to learn about rivals Liverpool losing Tuesday night's Premier League encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The defending Premier League champions fell to the division's basement club, who secured just their third victory of the campaign.
Having conceded in the 78th minute through Rodrigo Gomes' composed finish beyond Alisson Becker, the fightback appeared on for the Reds when Mohamed Salah netted his first goal in 11 league matches to restore parity.
Nevertheless, Andre's deflected effort in the 94th minute left Alisson stranded, inflicting Arne Slot's team with their fifth defeat to a winner scored in stoppage-time of the 25/26 season. Having squandered the chance to climb into an automatic Champions League qualification position, the Reds are yet again lamenting another woeful display and outcome.
As though the performance at the Molineux wasn't sufficiently difficult to digest, Everton secured a 2-0 triumph over Burnley at Hill Dickinson Stadium but it was the pitch-side conversation with Dewsbury-Hall afterwards that truly amplified Liverpool's anguish .
Speaking to Jules Breach, Fara Williams and Joleon Lescott on TNT Sports, the midfielder, 27, was analysing the performance, in which he bagged his sixth goal of the season, before celebrations of Everton supporters in the concourse could be heard.
Breach then let Dewsbury-Hall in on the fact that the cheers were due to Wolves scoring their last-minute winner, with the grinning Toffees star responding: "That's even better." The Reds remain fifth in the table as Slot confessed post-match that he had anticipated more from his team who now face a genuine struggle to conclude the season on a high.

The Dutchman stated: "My expectations haven't altered throughout the season because I expected more than we are battling for now. It's another setback and we didn't do ourselves any favours with this result, not at all.
"But there are still nine games to play. We are inching closer and closer to the finish. Losing points in a match where it's absolutely unnecessary. If you consider the flow of the game, I'm not suggesting we played brilliantly, but if we play this game in this manner 10 times we don't lose 10 times."

Slot maintained his squad created enough opportunities to secure all three points but conceded the team simply haven't been up to scratch. He continued: "It's far from certain that we win every time, hence we are not good enough.
