Eden Hazard believes Bayern Munich’s Vincent Kompany could be a future Red Devils head coach

Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich look unbeatable. The former Burnley and Anderlecht head coach has the team playing excellent football both domestically and in the Champions League. Speaking to the Belgian press, and as reported by HLN , one of his former international colleagues believes that Kompany could become a top coach for the Belgian national team in the future. Former Real Madrid and Chelsea winger Eden Hazard said of Kompany ‘He would be a good national coach, but not yet. I want to see him working every day at Bayern , or City, for example. Vincent isn’t even 40 yet. I don’t see him coaching a national team for the next four or five years’.

Whether or not Kompany is interested in the job by then remains to be seen, but clearly he has to be regarded as one of the top coaches in Europe with how dominant his Bayern Munich team are at the moment. Eyebrows were certainly raised when he made the move from Burnley to the biggest club in Germany, but Kompany has taken to it like a duck to water.

Rudi Garcia will lead the Red Devils into the 2026 World Cup, despite some speculation a few months ago that he could be sacked after some poor performances. Unlike when Kompany and Hazard represented Belgium, this current side will not be seen as a potential winner of the tournament. Furthermore, they are also unsure of who they will face in the Group Stages, with Iran set to withdraw from the tournament.
