Arsenal are chasing their first Premier League title in almost 22 years but former manager Arsene Wenger has previously pinpointed what he believes went wrong at the club after their last triumph. The Frenchman argued that the Gunners 'left their soul' behind at Highbury when they moved to the Emirates - despite the new stadium sitting just 500 metres away.

Highbury had been Arsenal's home for 93 years before it was converted into flats, though the iconic art‑deco East Stand facade still remains. It was there that Arsenal won three Premier League titles and regularly challenged at the top, only to stagnate following the move.

Wenger, who managed the club for 22 years, admitted the relocation came at a cost. "I moved from Highbury, which was similar to Anfield, but there was a soul in the stadium," the former manager told beIN Sports back in 2020.

"We built a new stadium but we never found our soul - we left our soul at Highbury. We could never recreate it for security reasons. The distance from the pitch to the stand had to be bigger as we needed ambulances to come in.

"The inclination of the stands had to be smaller all those things together that we didn't find to recreate the atmosphere."

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.

Despite a promising season challenging Manchester City for the title, Arsenal's hopes have taken a major hit after their latest setback against Pep Guardiola's side. The Gunners were beaten 2–1 at the Etihad on Sunday, leaving them just three points clear.

City are back in action on Wednesday night away at Burnley and a win at Turf Moor would pull them level on points with Arsenal. With a game in hand against Crystal Palace still to come, Guardiola’s side could even move three points clear at the top.
