Arsenal confirm bumper new contract for Bukayo Saka in major boost for Mikel Arteta

Arsenal have confirmed that Bukayo Saka has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new contract.

It emerged earlier this week that the Gunners talisman had put pen-to-paper on a deal after fresh terms were verbally agreed with the north London outfit in January.

And Saka teased fans by celebrating his goal in Wednesday night's 2-2 draw with Wolves by pretending to sign an imaginary contract on his hand.

Talks over a new deal have been ongoing for over a year with Saka signing his last contract, which runs until 2027, back in 2023. But the deal has now been officially announced, with Arsenal describing the contract as 'long-term'.

The news should lift the mood at Arsenal ahead of this weekend's north London derby after they dropped points away at the Premier League's bottom club to give Manchester City an opportunity to cut their lead at the summit.
