Wolves vs Arsenal ends in chaos as players clash after full-time whistle
Arsenal players and Wolverhampton Wanderers stars were involved in a post-match melee after their dramatic Premier League draw. Mikel Arteta's side needed a victory to move seven points clear in the title race.
Having been held to a 1-1 draw away to Brentford, the Gunners looked set to secure a precious three points against the division's rock-bottom side. Bukayo Saka , playing in the space just behind the striker, ended his barren spell in front of goal by heading in the opening goal.
It seemed like the victory was secured when Piero Hincapie beat the Wolves offside trap to lash in a fine finish to double the north Londoners' lead. However, a spectacular strike from Hugo Bueno gave Rob Edwards' side a route back into the game.
Arteta brought on Riccardo Calafiori to try to hold onto the victory but the Italian ended up bundling the ball into his own net in unfortunate fashion. Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya collided with each other allowing Tom Edozie to strike a half volley which hit the post, then hit Calafiori, and bobbled into the net.
When the final whistle was blown, an on-pitch scuffle involving both sets of players took place.
