Viktor Gyokeres fires strong title message to Man City after Fulham thumping

Viktor Gyokeres claims Arsenal ‘will never stop believing’ that they can lift the Premier League title. The Gunners extended their advantage over rivals Manchester City to six points with their 3-0 win against Fulham on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola ’s men could reduce that advantage on Monday evening as they take on Everton . Gyokeres , who scored twice against Fulham , was asked about Arsenal ’s ambitions to lift the crown and underlined that their desire would not wane.

Speaking to Sky Sports , he said: "At this stage, we have to win the games that are left. We showed a good performance and are happy to have got the three points.

"I think we always go into games believing we’re going to play well and create a lot of chances. Today we did that and we enjoyed it.

"We never stopped believing. We're not going to. That’s how it is and we keep going. We just need to focus on the next game.

"It's been good. We've had some good results. We're on a good path, but we have to stay there and keep going like this."

Gyokeres now has 21 goals to his name in all competitions this season following a move from Sporting Lisbon. He could add to that to that total over the final three Premier League games of the season against West Ham , Burnley and Crystal Palace .

Should Arsenal win each of those three games, they will be in an excellent position to potentially claim the crown. Gyokeres added: "It’s not so many games left now. We’re in a good position now, so of course [we have a good chance]."

Gyokeres was not the only one to give his verdict on Arsenal’s push for the title. Myles Lewis-Skelly, who started in an unfamiliar position in the heart of midfield, also spoke out.

He said that the title remains in Arsenal’s hands heading into the final few weeks of the campaign. He said: "It’s well deserved for this club, it’s where we’re meant to be. We have to take this opportunity now, because it’s there for the taking. We see pressure as a privilege."

Arsenal will turn their attentions to their European commitments in midweek as they host Spanish giants Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium in the second leg of their Champions League semi final. The Gunners then travel to struggling West Ham next weekend.
