Tottenham Hotspur have decided to appoint former Juventus boss Igor Tudor until the end of the season, according to various reports.

Spurs are looking for a new manager following Thomas Frank’s departure earlier this week, with his last match being a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

A host of names have already been linked with the Tottenham vacancy, and now it seems that an appointment may not be too far away from being made.

According to The Athletic, Spurs have decided to appoint Tudor as their new head coach on a deal until the end of the season.

Tudor was previously in charge of Juventus until last October, and the report now claims that the 47-year-old is expected to move to north London in the coming days to be Frank’s replacement.

However, the report also goes into further details, claiming that Tudor will not have the option of taking the Tottenham job on a permanent basis from the summer.

Should an appointment be made, Tudor’s first job will be to oversee Tottenham’s clash against Arsenal in the Premier League, with the North London Derby potentially his first match in charge.

Tudor, who also has experience managing Marseille, Lazio and Juventus in recent years, will also be tasked with helping guide Tottenham away from the relegation zone if an appointment is confirmed.

It’s understood Tottenham’s preference would be to confirm an appointment with the intention of running until the end of the season, with the ideal candidate having a track record of making an immediate impact.

Tottenham are currently in 16th place in the Premier League table, five points above the relegation zone, and also have a Champions League last-16 tie to look forward to later next month.
