Thomas Frank has been shown the door at Tottenham after a dismal run left the club languishing in 16th place in the Premier League . The Danish manager endured several fractious relationships with players during his turbulent tenure in north London .
Despite only making the switch from Brentford in June , Frank has been given his marching orders by Spurs following a winless streak spanning eight matches. The search for his successor is now underway .
Tuesday evening's 2-1 loss to Newcastle United proved to be the final straw. Combined with other results that night, Tottenham now find themselves precariously positioned just five points above the drop zone.
During his stint at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Frank didn't always see eye to eye with his entire squad. Mirror Football examines four Spurs players who had confrontations with the now-dismissed manager.

Arguably the most notable and visible confrontation Frank experienced with any of his squad occurred following the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last November. After the final whistle, he stayed on the pitch to acknowledge the supporters, many of whom had jeered his team throughout the loss.
He beckoned both Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence to accompany him, but the pair rebuffed their manager and headed straight down the tunnel . Frank downplayed this episode when addressing the media later that evening.

Just days following the incident, Frank disclosed that both players had offered their apologies. He explained: "Micky and Djed came into my office yesterday and just said they wanted to say sorry for the situation.
"They didn't want it to look bad. So there was no disrespect meant at all towards the team or me. They were just frustrated with the performance from us and the booing during the game."
Yves Bissouma has frequently found himself making headlines for matters away from the pitch during his spell at Tottenham. Last summer saw manager Frank clash with the Mali international over disciplinary matters.
Prior to the UEFA Super Cup in August, Bissouma was completely omitted from the Tottenham squad heading to Italy for the PSG fixture. When pressed for an explanation, Frank revealed the player had repeatedly turned up late , forcing him to intervene.

Frank stated before his inaugural competitive match in charge: "Bissouma isn't here because of disciplinary reasons. He has been late several times, the latest one too many.
"We need to give love and have demands but there have to be consequences. There's been a consequence. We will follow it up when we get home and park it for now."

Young Spurs forward Mathys Tel had a heated moment with manager Frank back in January, following a disappointing home defeat to West Ham . Despite starting the match, Tel was subbed off in the 62nd minute with Tottenham trailing 1-0.
The 20-year-old had put in a solid performance and was visibly upset when he was replaced by Dominic Solanke. His frustration was clear for all to see as he sat fuming on the bench and it's reported that he barely acknowledged Frank when he was taken off. The match ended in a 2-1 loss.

Spurs fans voiced their disapproval loudly when Tel was substituted, prompting Frank to address the situation. He explained: "I need to make decisions, of course. So I had to take one offensive player off.
"And I feel Wilson [Odobert] is a bit better to the right and wanted two strikers on the pitch. So that was the decision. There was nothing wrong with Mathys' performance."
