PSG vs Nantes – Match preview and team news

PSG is set to face Nantes in a Ligue 1 encounter on Wednesday night at their home ground Parc Des Princes.

Luis Enrique’s men will look to continue their goal-scoring form at home as they have scored in 47 consecutive home league matches, the longest active run by any team in Europe’s top five leagues.

For Paris Saint-Germain, manager Luis Enrique faces a delicate balancing act as he manages a squad thinned by injuries ahead of a busy schedule that includes a Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

The biggest blow is the absence of Vitinha, who is sidelined with a heel injury picked up during the recent loss to Lyon; his availability for European duty remains a major concern.

Defensively, the Parisians are still without Nuno Mendes, who is continuing his recovery from a thigh issue, and young talent Quentin Ndjantou, who isn’t expected back until May due to a hamstring strain.

Midfielder Fabian Ruiz returned from his injury to feature off the bench in their last outing but he is expected to sit out this match as well.

Senny Mayulu is once again set to start in Midfield due to the absence of Vitinha and Ruiz.

Goncalo Ramos and Desire Doue started the last match but there might be changes in attack as well with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele expected to start.

Nantes enters this daunting fixture in a precarious position, battling both relegation and a depleted roster.

The Canaries will be without their leader on the touchline, as manager Vahid Halilhodžić begins a four-match suspension following his dismissal against Brest.

On the pitch, the injury list is extensive: Fabien Centonze is out long-term with a cruciate ligament injury, joined by Kelvin Amian (groin) and Tylel Tati (thigh).

Furthermore, Remi Cabella has been ruled out until May alongwith Mohamed Kaba and Abakar Sylla. Adding to their woes, Dehmaine Tabibou is suspended following his recent red card.

PSG remains at the top of Ligue 1, with 63 points from 29 matches, still one point ahead of Lens and also with one extra game in hand. They recently suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Lyon last Sunday. Before this loss, the Parisians had been in dominant form, securing six consecutive wins across all competitions, including a Champions League quarter-final victory over Liverpool.

Nantes is currently mired in a difficult run as they fight to avoid the drop, sitting in 17th place and five points away from guaranteed safety. Their most recent result was a heartbreaking 1-1 draw against Brest, where they conceded a 96th-minute equaliser that denied them a much-needed victory. The Canaries are now winless in their last six matches and have struggled significantly on the road, failing to score in their last three away outings.

PSG: Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Beraldo; Zaire-Emery, Mayulu, Neves; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia

Nantes: Lopes; Guilbert, Awaziem, Cozza, Machado; Coquelin; Guirassy, Leroux, Lepenant, Abline; Mohamed
