Moises Caicedo is set to commit his future to Chelsea by signing a new contract with the club. The Ecuador international, 24, has become a key player for the Blues since his £100m move from Brighton in 2023.

He has gone on to make 140 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring eight goals. Caicedo remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2031 but Chelsea remain keen on tying him down to fresh terms, something that Caicedo is keen to do.

According to The Telegraph , Caicedo’s new deal will see his existing contract extended, while he is also in line for a pay increase. Speaking about his future last month, he said: “I’m focused on my club right now. I have a contract with my club, and I want to do well. I want to be a legend, God willing.”

The news of Caicedo’s extended deal will be welcome for Chelsea boss, Liam Rosenior, who has billed the former Brighton man as one of the best midfielders in world football.

“For me, Moises is one of the best defensive midfield players, if not the best defensive midfield player, in world football,” he said. “That’s because of his intelligence, his physicality, his technical quality, and how he understands the game.”

The news will also be a big boost considering a number of players have already put their futures in doubt. Enzo Fernandez has recently been banned for talking up a potential move to Real Madrid , while Marc Cucurella also took aim at the club’s owners for their approach in the transfer market.

It has also been reported that the Blues would be willing to cash in on Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho less than a year after signing him for £40m from Manchester United .

Rosenior has claimed that there could be significant movement at Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later when it comes to contracts. He said: “You’ll see in the coming weeks, there’ll be things that happen around this football club that will actually speak louder than words. And you’ll see what happens in the next couple of weeks in terms of the commitment of the players to this project.”

While Chelsea attempt to commit Caicedo to a new deal at Stamford Bridge, the West London side face a key few weeks as they try to seal their spot in the Champions League . Chelsea currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and four points behind the final Champions League place with six games of the season left to play.

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
