Manchester United are reportedly determined to secure a deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who could be made available by the Italian club for around £43million this summer. The club face a hectic transfer window, with fresh faces needed to balance their domestic ambitions alongside the rigours of a Champions League campaign.
With Casemiro set to depart at the end of the season, Ederson is amongst those linked with a switch to Old Trafford. The future of Manuel Ugarte also hangs in the balance , with reports indicating he has been offered to both AC Milan and Juventus ahead of a potential summer exit.
While The Sun claim United are targeting at least five midfield additions , including Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Mateus Fernandes and Adam Wharton, Tutto Mercato report that United are 'racing for' Ederson. No formal bids have been submitted at this stage, yet there is confidence that the Brazilian would be receptive to a Premier League move.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has confirmed as much, revealing that the club are yet to receive any proposals for Ederson. "We have no official offers, only interest from other teams," he told Tutto Mercato . "I think it's unlikely that teams will make a move before the end of the season.
"Interest in our players is normal, but we'll evaluate them at the right time with great serenity and calm."

Atalanta's precise asking price remains uncertain, but reports suggest a figure in the region of £43m could be sufficient to secure the 26-year-old. Any funds received for Ederson would enable the club to reinvest in a younger midfield setup, with Marten de Roon (35) and Mario Pasalic (31) both now on the wrong side of 30.
Beyond midfield, United's reported transfer blueprint also encompasses bringing in a new left-back to challenge Luke Shaw , alongside a backup striker to support Benjamin Sesko. It is further claimed that United are targeting an additional goalkeeper to provide cover for Senne Lammens.
Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
Andre Onana, whose loan spell is drawing to a close at Trabzonspor , continues to attract interest from the Turkish club. Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has confirmed that the side would like to sign Onana on a permanent basis.
United continue their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they host Nottingham Forest , looking to finish the season as strongly as possible having secured third place.
Liverpool remain six points adrift in fourth, and Arne Slot's side would need the Red Devils to drop points in both of their remaining fixtures to stand any chance of overtaking them.
