Liverpool and Manchester United ‘monitoring’ RB Leipzig captain David Raum
According to Teamtalk, Liverpool and Manchester United are monitoring RB Leipzig captain David Raum .
Scouts from both clubs attended Leipzig’s 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Red Bull Arena at the weekend. Yan Diomande was among the players watched, with Raum also under observation.
Handed the armband last summer, the 27-year-old left-back has delivered three goals and eight assists in 32 appearances this season.
"I have never made a secret of the fact that the Premier League is something special. Not only is the league strong in general, but as a physically strong player I really like it," Raum told Sport Bild last year.
With his contract running until 2027, he was asked in January if talks had begun over an extension. "No, not yet," he told Bulinews.com.
"I just focus on my game and my new role at the club (as captain, editor's note). I have a contract beyond this season, so there's no hurry at the moment."
"If the club comes to me, of course we can sit together and talk about it, but at the moment it's not a big topic. I'm very happy here at the moment and have a clear goal with the team this season, and that's all I focus on. Playing at my second World Cup after the season is another goal I have, and then we'll see after that."
