Jadon Sancho has revealed he is "happy" at Aston Villa and hailed Unai Emery after Manchester United made a final decision on his future .
Sancho, 25, made the loan move to Villa last summer after making it clear his wanted to pursue his opportunities elsewhere. The England international had spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign at Borussia Dortmund and last season at Chelsea after falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Whilst Sancho is relishing his football at Villa, he has struggled to recapture his finest form. The 2000-born forward has managed just one goal and one assist in 25 appearances for the Villans this season.
However, Emery has shown considerable faith in Sancho since the start of 2026, with the former Dortmund man featuring in each of Villa's last five Premier League fixtures. "When you have a manager that back to you, you go into training with a lot more confidence, and obviously matchdays," Sancho told Villa's official website.
"So, I'm just happy that I'm playing, and hopefully I can help the team throughout the season."
With Villa gearing up to welcome Leeds United on Saturday, Sancho spoke of his eagerness to perform at Villa Park once more, declaring he "loves playing in front of the home fans".
"The camp is excited," Sancho said. "We can't wait to be in front of our fans again. I love playing in front of the home fans. They get behind us a lot, and they support us to the end.
"We've got a big game against Leeds coming up, so we're looking forward to it. Again, another tough opponent, but again, if we stick to our gameplan (and) play how we play, I'm sure we can get another result."

Sancho's remarks arrive just days after it emerged that United have no plans to keep the Villa loanee and are content to allow him to depart as a free agent this summer.
He put pen to paper on a five-year deal at United following his £73million switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, but things haven't gone to plan for him in Manchester. The Red Devils were eager to offload Sancho permanently in 2024 – and once more in 2025 – but were unsuccessful in securing a sale and had to accept a loan arrangement.
However, with Sancho's existing contract running out at the end of June, it should be simpler for him to secure a transfer. Emery recently hinted he could be tempted to make Sancho's temporary spell at Villa Park a permanent arrangement.

The Spaniard said: "Not yet, but he is a fantastic player. Hopefully he can help us by increasing his qualities in our structure like he is doing. He will need another contract, and maybe it could be here. If he plays his best football, we will want him.
"But also other teams could be involved in the interest for him. The first part of the season was not enough. He was working and trying, but not achieving the performance we needed. Now he is getting better. He is getting the challenge for him and us."
