Guardiola sees the Premier League slip away after drawing with Nottingham Forest
Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have reportedly dropped three crucial points that could prove decisive in the Premier League title race . With one eye on what Arsenal might do, the team drew 2-2 against Nottingham Forest , though their manager refuses to throw in the towel.
Manchester City no longer control their own destiny
After leading twice at home, City were pegged back in the 76th minute, letting two points slip away. This means Manchester City no longer depend solely on themselves if they want to win the English title .
Arsenal won by the narrowest margin on their visit to Brighton & Hove Albion and are now seven points ahead (with a game in hand). Even if City beat the Gunners in their direct April clash and win their pending match, Arsenal would still top the table.
Nine matches remain, but even with victories over Arsenal and in their outstanding fixture, the Gunners would retain the lead. Under this scenario, Pep Guardiola can only hope for a perfect run of wins while praying Arsenal drop points. Otherwise, the Premier League trophy will return to Highbury for the first time in 22 years.
"I'm disappointed with the result. I think we did everything to win. We had chances at the end and throughout the game, but we have to keep going. Many matches remain," Guardiola commented to TNT Sports .
We could say the Premier League is close to being decided, but anything can happen-and we might be heading for a crazy finish in the English title race .
