Fulham vs Burnley Premier League preview, team news and prediction

Still eyeing a possible European spot, Fulham host relegation-threatened Burnley at Craven Cottage in Saturday’s Premier League action. Marco Silva’s men are aiming for their first league double over Burnley in over 70 years, having edged a 3-2 win at Turf Moor in December. Fulham currently sit 11th—matching last season’s finish—on 41 points from 30 games, with 12 wins, five draws, and 13 defeats.
The Cottagers are seeking to snap a three-game winless streak across all competitions. After consecutive 1-0 home losses to West Ham and Southampton, they drew 0-0 at Nottingham Forest last weekend, managing just one shot on target. Fulham have struggled for goals lately, and they last went three league matches without scoring in December 2023—a run that included a 2-0 home loss to Burnley.
Despite recent struggles, Fulham have a strong record against promoted sides, losing just once in their last 14 Premier League meetings, and have earned over 60% of their points at home this season. However, they have only one win in their last five home games against Burnley, losing the last three by a combined 7-0 since a 4-2 victory in August 2018.
Burnley, meanwhile, are winless in their last five matches in all competitions since a 3-2 triumph at Crystal Palace in February, including an FA Cup exit to Mansfield and two league draws with Chelsea and Bournemouth. Scott Parker’s side remain 19th, eight points from safety with eight games left, and face a crucial stretch with four of their next five matches against bottom-half teams.
Encouragingly, Burnley have won three of their last four league visits to Fulham and have picked up points recently against London clubs. However, their defensive woes persist, with just one clean sheet in their last 41 Premier League away games and none in their last 25 since their 2-0 win at Craven Cottage over two years ago.

Fulham winger Kevin remains out long-term after recent foot surgery, while Emile Smith Rowe (knock) will be assessed after missing the Bournemouth draw. If fit, Smith Rowe could compete with Joshua King for the number 10 spot behind Raul Jimenez, who has not scored in his last three appearances against Burnley. Harry Wilson, Fulham’s top Premier League scorer with nine goals, is expected to start on the right after a goal and two assists in December’s win over Burnley. Oscar Bobb and Samuel Chukwueze will compete for the left wing.
For Burnley, Josh Cullen, Zeki Amdouni (both knee), Axel Tuanzebe, Connor Roberts (both Achilles), and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined. Mike Tresor (ankle) is back in training but may not be ready for Saturday. Maxime Esteve will be assessed after illness, and if fit, should join Josh Laurent and Bashir Humphreys in defense. In midfield, Lesley Ugochukwu and Florentino Luis are pushing to start ahead of James Ward-Prowse and Hannibal Mejbi. Zian Flemming and Jaidon Anthony, Burnley’s joint top scorers with seven league goals each, are set to lead the attack.
