Como director Raphaël Varane on Nico Paz’s future: “Everything depends on Real Madrid”

A member of Como’s board of directors and former Real Madrid defender, Raphaël Varane , voiced his opinions on Nico Paz’s future at the club and Los Blancos’ intentions.

Speaking to Corriere della Sera ( via Gianluca Di Marzio) , the Frenchman revealed that he looks forward to a summer in which the Argentine plays a significant part, while acknowledging that Real Madrid holds the keys to his future.

“I’d tell him to stay where he feels happiest. But unfortunately, neither he nor we have much say in the matter; it all depends on Real Madrid’s wishes” , claimed Varane.

Paz has turned into one of manager Cesc Fàbregas’ favourite players in the squad. However, Spanish giants Real Madrid have a €9 million buyback clause inserted in the player’s transfer move. They are expected to activate the provision and bring the 21-year-old to their club this summer .

Varane’s words make it clear that Como do not hold any influence over the midfielder’s future, and it entirely depends on Los Vikingos’ call.
