Arsenal sent fresh Premier League title prediction after Man City's FA Cup win

Micah Richards believes Manchester City’s FA Cup win could give them renewed confidence in the Premier League title race. Pep Guardiola ’s side secured success at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Antoine Semenyo’s skillful finish saw City win 1-0 and seal another piece of silverware under Guardiola . They could still add to that before the end of the campaign with the Premier League crown.

City remain two points behind Arsenal with two games of the season to go. Speaking on BBC Sport, former defender Richards believes victory at Wembley could give them a vital late push.

He said: “They are in with a chance and that’s all that matters. Confidence-wise, yes because they can focus on the league now. But let’s see.”

Man City have two games of the season remaining. They will at first take on Bournemouth away from home on Tuesday ahead of a final day clash against Aston Villa .

In the meantime, Arsenal will take on Burnley on Monday before a showdown with Conference League finalists Crystal Palace on the last day of the campaign. Outgoing City star Bernardo Silva was asked about his side’s Premier League title hopes and claimed his side are not giving up quite yet.

He said: "Very special. I am really happy. Everything about my journey here at Man City was fantastic. Hopefully we can still have a small dream that we can fight for the Premier League.

"Today we are very happy. It is just special for me, being my last season to give them another trophy. Hopefully, not the last one.

"Since I arrived it has been 20 [trophies], so it is not bad. That was a fantastic goal. In a final there are no favourites. The beginning of the second half, they started really strong. They were putting us under constant pressure and it wasn't easy."

Speaking further to TNT Sports, the Portuguese midfielder added: "It would mean a lot. It's not in our hands but our job is on Wednesday to do our job and put a bit of pressure on to make them win the game to be champions. But we are in a tough position.”

City need to hope Arsenal drop at least two points over their final two games for them to stand any chance of reclaiming the title. In the meantime, Mikel Arteta ’s side know that two wins from their final two games will see them end their long wait for the crown.
